Our Story
For more than 12 years, a small team of dedicated women have given their time, love and resources to caring for established feral cat colonies in Durban.
It started with a simple mission: to provide consistent care for cats who had come to depend on them.
Rose Magic, Pauline Tribe and Sherryl Bradfield dedicate their mornings to feeding and caring for the established feral cat colonies
Their days begin at 4am, before heading off to their regular jobs. Every cat is known, fed and cared for 365 days a year, including Christmas Day.
Through an ongoing sterilisation programme, the colonies are responsibly managed and prevented from growing. Today, St Francis Carers remains committed to the cats already in its care, providing the food, shelter, veterinary support and daily care they need throughout their lives.
Our Mission
The only way to save 100 cats is to sterilise one.
To provide lifelong care for the cats who already depend on us.
St Francis Carers is committed to the ongoing care and responsible management of our established feral cat colonies.
Every day, we provide food, shelter, veterinary support and protection for the cats in our care, while sterilisation helps ensure our colonies remain stable and do not continue to grow.
